RTL Cube Dongle – DVB-T USB STICK FOR SDR RECEPTION 25- 1700 MHz

The R820T2 RTL-SDR is currently the cheapest, most common and is the best in terms of general usability. The R820T2 has a frequency range of  24 – 1766 MHz and is fully 100% compatible with any software for the older R820T.

This dongle has been succesfully tested under Windows 8 en 8.1!

Windows 8(.1) heeft een extra beveiliging om niet-ondertekende stuurprogramma’s niet toe te laten. Hier is een work-around voor.

Here is the procedure to load ZADIG drivers to Windows 8 –

1. Windows Key + R

2. Enter: shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00

3. Click the “OK” button

4. System will restart to a “Choose an option” screen

5. Select “Troubleshoot” from “Choose an option” screen

6. Select “Advanced options” from “Troubleshoot” screen

7. Select “Windows Startup Settings” from “Advanced options” screen

8. Click “Restart” button

9. System will restart to “Advanced Boot Options” screen

10. Select “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement”

11. Once the system starts, install the ZADIG driver as you would on Windows 7 It is not “Plug & Play”, this will get you going when you switch to windows 8. hiermee zet je in windows de verplichte hantekening uit

Aanvullende instructies voor Windows 10:

Het is gebleken dat de installatie van Windows 10 niet altijd vlekkeloos verloopt. Met bovenstaande instructies van Windows 8 komt u al erg ver. In veel gevallen blijkt SDR-sharp de dongle niet te herkennen.

Voor Windows 10 is er slechts 1 toevoeging op de bovenstaande instructies om alles te laten werken: Na de installatie van de Zadig driver, kopieert u uit de zadig installatiemap het bestand RTLSDR.DLL naar de map waarin u sdrsharp heeft staat.
Wanneer u nu sdr-sharp start wordt de dongle wél herkend!
